Magarida

Magarida leads Seeds and Stories, a group of artisans in Bigodi, a rural village in western Uganda. They utilize fashion as a means to empower women and regenerate the environment. They firmly believe in transforming the fashion industry into a catalyst for social and environmental transformation. Their products combine innovative materials, contemporary designs, and traditional techniques passed down through generations. The artisans are empowered to showcase their skills, preserving their cultural heritage and representing their region. As a result, the fashion items embody the creativity and talent of their makers. Each product is meticulously crafted in-house, ensuring deep involvement in every step of the creation process. Seeds and Stories is committed to ethical practices, using sustainable materials, hand dyeing and crafting, promoting veganism, and prioritizing durability. They carefully select materials aligned with environmental values, striving for biodegradability, reusability, and recyclability.
