First Edition: Empowering Women Artisan

Trillion Looks Store brought together Ugandan artists and African fashion creatives to showcase the art and fashion products they crafted with sustainability, creativity, and innovation. This was achieved through the Afri Art and Fashion Show, which was scheduled for July 16th, 2022. The event took place at Thobani Centre in Kampala, running from 12 pm to 6 pm.

Pride was taken in supporting women and youth creatives, offering them a platform to exhibit their products. This helped promote their craftsmanship and designs while providing a gateway to greater opportunities.

The featured designers included talented women and youth who had never previously received an opportunity to showcase their products to the world. These creatives demonstrated remarkable creativity and top-notch skills.

During the fashion and art show, participants enjoyed a celebratory afternoon in true African style. The mood was set with Afrocentric music and dance, a celebrity moment featuring big names in Ugandan fashion, and a grand runway showcasing over 100 items. Attendees were guaranteed to find something that met their taste.

The guest of honor was Mrs Grace Mbabazi Aulo the coordinator of the Handicraft and Souvenir project under the Ministry of Tourism Wildlife and Antiquities. During this event, Mrs Aulo launched an E-commerce shop on which artisans would be able to market and sell the products across the globe.

The event proved ideal for African fashion lovers, stylists, fashion designers, and students of fashion, as well as tourists seeking to enrich their experiences in Kampala, Uganda, by exploring the country’s vibrant African fashion and art scene.
