On August 28, 2026, six universities will compete to be crowned champions of the 2026 Inter-University Fashion Challenge organised by Trillion Looks Store under the annual Afri Art Fashion show project. Following the success of the inaugural competition held at the Design Hub in Bugolobi in 2025, Trillion Looks store is bringing the challenge back and will be hosted by University of Kisubi.
Forty-two (42) students from six universities will battle across seven categories to showcase culture, heritage, innovation, and sustainability in fashion. The competition categories include; Heritage, Modernity, Eco-Fashion, Inclusive Fashion, Ghetto vs. Urban, Color Your World, and Accessories.
The six universities confirmed for this year’s challenge include:
1- Kyambogo University
2- University of Kisubi
3- Makerere University
4- Michelangelo College of Creative Arts
5- Kampala University
6- Uganda Christian University
To support the students as they prepare their collections, Trillion Looks store has paired students with established Ugandan fashion designers with runway experience having showcased their designs at the past four editions of Afri Art Fashion show. These mentors will guide the students throughout the process and help facilitate their entry into the industry.
In just one month, we will announce the winners of the best student designer accolade for each category, as well as the university that will earn the title of “Afri-Art Fashion Institute of the Year – Inter-University Fashion Challenge 2026.”
